Man Arrested after Women Report Butt-Grabbing, Slapping

William Martini IV of Stanford, New York, faces charges of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd Degree, a Class C Felony and two counts of Forcible Touching, a Class A Misdemeanor.
He was arrested April 24 after two incidents this weekend-- one which was called in and the other which a state trooper happened upon.

The New York State Police were assisted by the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office and Poughkeepsie town police -- both of whom are investigating similar incidents in the area.
At 3 p.m. April 23, troopers were dispatched by Dutchess County 911 to Bushwick Road near the intersection with Titusville Road and State Route 55 in LaGrange for a woman who was grabbed by a stranger.

The 17-year-old victim reported that she was jogging on Titusville Road and saw a black Chevrolet pick-up truck stopped on the shoulder. The victim reported that a man in his 30s got out of the truck and started jogging behind her. He then grabbed her buttocks before returning to his truck and leaving the area, she said.
The victim and a witness attempted to get the truck's license plate number; however, it was covered with duct tape.
At about the same time the next day, a trooper on patrol observed a black pick-up truck stopped on Wilbur Road in Pleasant Valley.
The driver was out of his truck speaking with an elderly woman along the road.
Upon stopping, the trooper discovered that the driver of the pick-up truck was bothering the woman -- who later disclosed he had slapped her buttocks.
He attempted to flee but was stopped by the trooper.
Identified as Martini, the man was found in unlawful possession of an loaded .357 revolver handgun.
Martini, 31, was arraigned in the Town of Pleasant Valley Court before the Honorable Thomas Vasti and sent to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond.
Martini is scheduled to reappear in the Town of Pleasant Valley Court on April 28. He is scheduled to appear in LaGrange town court on May 3.
