Man Strikes, Kills 76-Year-Old Woman In NYC With Dump Truck
Police said the Orange County resident is also accused of leaving the scene of the deadly accident.
ORANGE COUNTY, NY — A Monroe resident was accused Wednesday of striking and killing a woman with a dump truck in the Bronx and then leaving the scene of the accident.
Vincent Francis, 62, was charged with leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death, as well as failure to yield to a pedestrian and failure to exercise due care that resulted in serious injury, News 12 reported.
Police said Francis was driving a dump truck March 7 and hit Lola Blair, 76, while she was trying to cross Einstein Loop at the Hutchinson River Parkway.

The dump truck was owned by Riverbay Corp., which runs Co-op City in the Bronx, the Daily News said.
Medics took the 76-year-old woman to Jacobi Medical Center, but she died.
