On Saturday, June 22, the Mid-Hudson Bridge was illuminated in purple in honor of Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness Month, a time dedicated to increasing public awareness of Alzheimer’s disease, available resources and how to support the cause.

The day before (June 21) was The Longest Day, an ongoing fundraiser that honors the long days spent by people who are caregivers of those with Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia. This fundraiser encourages people to set up their own events doing activities they enjoy any time to raise funds and awareness. Many choose to hold their events the actual Longest Day (the Summer Solstice), but Longest Day fundraisers can be held any time. Visit alz.org/tld to start your own event.

Visit alz.org/abam for more information about Alzheimer's & Brain Awareness Month.
