Middletown Man Killed In 2-Car Crash Sunday

Police are asking the public if anyone saw a erratically driven blue BMW SUV earlier that morning.

MIDDLETOWN, NY — A two-car fatal automobile accident July 16 is under investigation by the State Police. The incident occurred around 10:20 a.m. on State Route 17M in the Town of Wallkill. Police said Dustin J. Mills, 30, of Middletown was driving a 2005 Honda Accord east on State Route 17M in Wallkill.

Robinson Perez, 28, of New York, was driving a 2011 BMW SUV west on Route 17M when he left his lane of travel and struck Mills’ vehicle in the eastbound lane. [Get Patch’s Daily Newsletter and Real Time News Alerts here.]

Mills was pronounced dead at the scene.

Perez was taken to Orange Regional Medical Center for minor injuries.

Police said the investigation is ongoing and are requesting any person who may have seen a blue BMW SUV driving erratically on State Route 17 westbound near Middletown around 10:15 a.m. July 16 to contact SP Middletown at 845-344-5300.

State Police were assisted at the scene of the accident by the Town of Wallkill Police Department and the Circleville Fire Department.
