Moderate To Heavy Snow Expected In Parts Of Mid-Hudson Valley
The National Weather Service issued a Special Weather Statement.

The National Weather Service issued a special weather statement that is in effect until 3:30 p.m. Thursday. It affects Columbia, Greene and Ulster counties in the mid-Hudson Valley, and parts of the New York State Thruway.
At 203 PM EST, a large area of moderate to heavy snow was located over much of eastern New York from around the Mohawk Valley and Saratoga region southward, southern Vermont and western Massachusetts, including Interstates 90, 88, 87, 787 and 890. The snow is causing reduced visibility and snow covered roads. Snowfall rates of one half to one inch per hour will result in hazardous travel conditions.
THIS INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING HIGHWAYS...
Interstate 88 between exits 19 and 23.
Interstate 90 between exits 8 and 6-5A.
Interstate 890 near exit 7.
Interstate 87 between exits 1 and 9.
Interstate 787 between exits 2 and 8-7.
Visibilities will drop quickly to less than a half mile in this area of moderate to heavy snow. Icy roads are possible as the snow melts on the roads then quickly refreezes.
