Motorcyclist Being Pursued By Police Crashes In Woodbury

The motorcycle flipped forward onto the front bumper of the police vehicle.

WOODBURY, NY — State Police are investigating a motorcycle crash Monday in the Town of Woodbury that stemmed from a police pursuit. State Police said around 5 p.m. Troopers were called to the intersection of ST-32 and Larking Drive in Woodbury.

The preliminary investigation found that the motorcyclist, operating a 2015 Suzuki GSX-R600, was being pursued by a Town of Tuxedo Police unit that had passed a red light at the intersection.

The motorcyclist struck the passenger side of a 2002 Subaru Legacy which was making a left turn onto Route 6.

The impact cause the motorcycle to flip forward and then land on the front push bumper of the Tuxedo patrol vehicle.

The motorcyclist sustained minor injuries and was take to Orange Regional Medical Center.
