New Felony Arrest In Historic Train Engine Fire On New Year's Day

The second suspect arrested in the Catskill Mountain Railroad fire was issued an appearance ticket to return to Kingston Court.

KINGSTON, NY — A second suspect man has now been arrested in connection to the New Year's Day arson of a train engine in Ulster County.

On Sunday, 29-year-old James A. Adelman, of Accord, was arrested in connection to the train fire. He was charged with felony criminal mischief and arson.

Investigators say the fire was set in the cab of the locomotive. Police do not believe the Catskill Mountain Railroad was directly targeted.

Adelman was issued an appearance ticket to return to Kingston City Court.
