Cuomo said that downscaling state sites is necessary to redirect these resources.
"But it does not mean that you should not get your vaccine if you haven't already," he said.

Over the coming weeks and months, the state will evaluate the remaining mass vaccination sites to determine future necessity as part of the strategic downscale based on demand, proximity to other vaccination sites and other locally focused efforts, the governor's office said.
The transition reflects the state's plan to focus resources in areas where the vaccination rate is lower than the statewide average through collaboration with local stakeholders, community members and partners.
New Yorkers are encouraged to continue to utilize the Am I Eligible tool to make appointments and check on the availability of vaccines at state-run mass vaccination sites. All open sites continue to offer walk-in vaccinations for all eligible individuals.
The remaining sites in the lower Hudson Valley are at the New York National Guard Armory and the Westchester County Center.
