NJ Man Charged In Connection With Deaths Of 2 Women
The two women were passengers in a car the man was driving while ability impaired with alcohol and marijuana, police said.

GOSHEN, NY — A New Jersey man who police said was driving impaired by the use of alcohol and marijuana was charged in the deaths of two of his passengers. Orange County District Attorney David M. Hoovler announced Tuesday that Christopher Perrella, 32, of Vernon, NJ was arraigned on the following charges:
- Four counts of aggravated vehicular homicide, felonies
- Four counts of first-degree vehicular manslaughter, felonies
- Two counts of second-degree manslaughter, felonies
- Eight counts of second-degree vehicular manslaughter, felonies
- Four counts of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, misdemeanors
Emily Carwile, 36, of Vernon, NJ and Jessica Dussault, 30, of Hopatcong, NJ were killed Nov. 4, 2017, when Perrella lost control of his car on a curve and struck a vacant house, recordonline.com said.

The women were sitting in the back seat and were thrown from the car. Perrella was pinned in the car and taken to the hospital for treatment of his injuries. A fourth passenger in the front seat was able to get out of the car.

“Fatalities caused by those who drive while impaired by alcohol or other substances are as tragic as they are preventable,” Hoovler said.
