'Not Random' Shooting Leaves Victim With Head, Face Injuries
Law enforcement is asking for anyone with security camera footage from around the time of the shooting to come forward.
HYDE PARK, NY — A shooting in Dutchess County that left the victim with head and facial injuries is under investigation by the county sheriff's office.
The shooting happened in the town of Hyde Park shortly before 1 a.m. Thursday, the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office said.
Authorities said they went to a home on Rockledge Road in Hyde Park and found one person with significant head and facial injuries caused by a gunshot.

The person was taken to Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital before eventually being taken to Westchester Medical Center.
The sheriff's office said the name of the person will not be released at this time.

A preliminary investigation revealed the victim was shot once by an unknown person who fled from the scene before law enforcement arrived.
The incident is not thought to be random, and there doesn't appear to be any threat to the public's safety.
Anyone with information or security camera footage between around 12:30 a.m. to 1 a.m. Thursday in the Rockledge Road or Greenfields Development areas of Hyde Park is urged to call the sheriff's office Detective Bureau at 845-486-3820.
