NYS Holding Hearings On Utility Companies Outage Responses

One is planned for next week in Dutchess County.

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY — The New York State Department of Public Service is investigating the preparedness and responses of all seven major electric utility companies in the wake of the two severe snowstorms that swept through the state in March 2018. The DPS is seeking comments from utility customers regarding the snowstorm-related electric power outages that kept some homes and businesses in the dark for more than a week.

The department is holding a series of hearings in the regions of the state that were hit the hardest by the storms.

To that end, there will be public hearings in Dutchess County at the Town of Poughkeepsie Town Hall at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. Monday, April 23.
