Orange County Man Accused Of Sex Abuse

Police are asking the public if they know of anyone who may have had similar interactions with the man.

NEW WINDSOR, NY — State police said July 19 that they accused an Orange County man with sexual abuse. Charles Sandike, 64, of New Windsor, was charged with second-degree criminal sexual act, a felony, and second-degree sex abuse (sexual contact with individual less than 17 therefore incapable of consent) and endangering the welfare of a child, misdemeanors.

Police said their investigation found that Sandike engaged in a sexual act with an underage and mentally disabled victim.

He was arraigned in the Town of New Windsor Court and sent to the Orange County jail on $25,000 bail.

Sandike has a return court date of July 25.

Police said this is an ongoing investigation.

The state police are asking anyone who had similar interactions or knows of similar acts involving Sandike to call the New York State Police at 845-344-5300.
