Orange County Sheriff's K-9 Officer Tok Dies At 7
Tok suffered from an aggressive form of cancer and experienced a rapid decline in health.
GOSHEN, NY — The Orange County Sheriff's Office is mourning the passing of one of its K-9 officers. Sheriff Carl DuBois said Tuesday K-9 Tok, the partner of Deputy Sheriff and SOG Operator Daniel Volpe, died at the age of 7.
According to DuBois, Tok was born in Slovakia and was assigned to Volpe. He was trained and put into service as a patrol K-9 with a specialty in narcotics detection.
Tok answered the call for service numerous times throughout his six-year career.

Officials said the most notable was locating a person who overdosed in the woods and locating a suicidal person who was holding a knife, saving both lives in the process.
Tok competed in the U.S. Police Canine Association Region 7, Police Dog Trial in 2018, placing fifth overall, second place in obedience and third place in criminal apprehension.

He was the first sheriff's office K-9 to be assigned to the Orange County Sheriff's Office Special Operations Group.

The sheriff's office said it extended its deepest condolences to Volpe and his family on the loss of their partner, friend and family member.
DuBois said his heart goes out to the Volpes.
"K-9 Tok will be missed by everyone at the sheriff's office," he said.
"Thank you, Tok, for your dedicated service to the Orange County Sheriff's Office and the citizens of the County of Orange and the State of New York," DuBois said. "Rest easy, good boy."
