Pair Accused Of Burglarizing Kinderhook Home

KINDERHOOK, NY — Two Columbia County residents were accused of burglarizing a Kinderhook home. State police said Brendan Crotty, 30, and Brittany H. Hevessy, 30, both of Valatie, were charged with second-degree burglary and criminal possession of stolen property, felonies.

Additionally, Crotty was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny, a felony.

Police said, on Oct. 2, troopers went to a Hudson Street residence for a report of a possible burglary.

An investigation found Hevessy and Crotty illegally entered the residence and stole several credit cards, according to authorities.

They then purchased several items at several Walmart locations with the stolen credit cards in Greenport and Rensselaer County, police said.

Hevessy and Crotty were arraigned in the Town of Greenport Court and sent to the Columbia County Jail without bail.

They are next scheduled to appear in court Oct. 21.
