Police Are Seeking Information About Mysterious Poughkeepsie Homicide
Police said they are not releasing the names of the victim or the person of interest, until they are both positively identified.

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY — Police are asking for the public's help in solving a fatal stabbing in a city park.
The City of Poughkeepsie Police Department says that on Wednesday, around 9:44 p.m., officers responded to Pershing Avenue Park after a report of a man that had been stabbed and was bleeding.
When police arrived on the scene, they found a white male, approximately 50 years old, who had been stabbed. After they secured the scene for EMS personnel, the man was taken to a local hospital where he died.

During the investigation that followed, police developed a person of interest and the City of Poughkeepsie Detective Bureau is actively seeking this person. Police are not releasing the names of the victim or the person of interest, until they are both positively identified.
The investigation remains ongoing, and the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department asks that anyone with information about the incident call the Tip Line at 845-451-7577.
