Police Say Woman Killed By Dog In Hudson Valley
The investigation by police determined the wounds and circumstances were consistent with a dog attack.
PLEASANT VALLEY, NY — A Hudson Valley woman was killed by a dog Saturday. State police said they were sent to Barkit Kennel Road in the Town of Pleasant Valley, along with the Pleasant Valley Fire Department EMS, for a report of a woman with life-threatening injuries.
Arlene Renna, 67, was found unconscious on the living room floor of her home by her husband after he arrived home. She was dead from her injuries, authorities said.
The investigation by police determined the wounds and circumstances were consistent with a dog attack.

Two coonhounds, which were kept in the home as pets, were secured by the Dutchess County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
No one else was home at the time of the attack, and state police said there was no indication of foul play.

The fate of the dogs will be determined by a court judge.
Also assisting in the investigation were the Dutchess County Medical Examiner and the Dutchess County District Attorney's Office.
