Pot Possession Accusation After Thruway Traffic Stop

Police said that probable cause was found to search the man's vehicle.

WOODBURY, NY — A traffic stop on the Thruway led to an accusation of a marijuana possession for an upstate man. State police charged Darnell E. Rollins, 24, of Schenectady, with third-degree criminal possession of marijuana, a felony, and vehicle and traffic violations.

Police said Rollins was pulled over on I-87 around 10 p.m. June 28 for a vehicle and traffic violation.

While talking with him, the trooper found probable cause to search the man's car.

Rollins was found to have about 8.7 ounces of marijuana, police said.

He was released on an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Woodbury Court July 2.
