Poughkeepsie Man Arrested After Domestic Violence: Police
Police said the victim was sent to the hospital with serious injuries.

HYDE PARK, NY — A Poughkeepsie man was arrested for alleged domestic violence in Hyde Park. State police said Michael A. Nicholas, 32, of Poughkeepsie, was charged with second-degree assault, a felony.
Troopers were sent June 28 to Hook Road in the Town of Hyde Park for a possible domestic dispute.
When they got to the location, troopers and officers from the Hyde Park Police Department talked to the victim who was reluctant to speak.

The victim was then taken to Vassar Brother Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries.
An investigation eventually led to the identification of Nicholas, and a warrant was issued July 14 for his arrest.

Nicholas turned himself in July 15 at the Rhinebeck barracks.
He was arraigned in the Town of Hyde Park Court and sent to the Dutchess County Jail without bail.
Nicholas is scheduled to reappear in court July 19.
