Poughkeepsie Man Charged In Hit-And-Run Which Injured Pedestrian: PD
The victim was struck on April 28, according to police.
CITY OF POUGHKEEPSIE, NY — Police have arrested a city resident in connection with an April 28 hit-and-run accident which seriously injured a pedestrian.
Det. Lt. Sean McCarthy said an extensive investigation led to the arrest Wednesday of Michael Baker, 39, of Poughkeepsie.
Baker is charged with leaving the scene of an accident resulting in serious physical injury, second-degree reckless endangerment, and second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation.

Police said Baker’s vehicle struck the pedestrian around 10:17 p.m. on Orchard Place.
Responding officers found the victim lying in the roadway and suffering from serious injuries, according to police.

Baker was arraigned in Poughkeepsie City Court and released on his own recognizance.
