Power Companies Working To Restore Electricity Monday

The Hudson Valley is beginning the work week with thunderstorms and tornado advisories in the rear-view mirror. Coming up, the region is looking at wind advisories predicting sustained winds of 20 to 30 mph and wind gusts of up to 45 mph in the lower Hudson Valley and up to 55 mph in the mid-Hudson Valley.

That said, crews from the region's power companies are out restoring as many of the outages from the overnight storms — and before the possibly damaging winds begin hitting the area.

As of 10 a.m. Monday, Con Edison is only looking at a little less than 130 customers without power, mainly in the Village of Ossining. Restoration is estimated to occur by 11 a.m. Monday.

NYSEG only has a smattering of outages, with about 20 in Dutchess and 15 in Putnam counties.

Central Hudson is showing about 300 customers waiting for their electricity to be turned back on. Dutchess leads the pack with about 150 customers, primarily in North East and Washington, waiting for power restoration. The company said Dutchess and Ulster will be restored by 2 p.m. Monday. The outages in Orange County are still pending.

O&R said there are more than 200 customers in Orange County still in the dark, with restoration estimated for shortly after 1 p.m. Monday.

There was only one customer in Rockland waiting for electricity to be restored.
