
HUDSON VALLEY, NY — In the aftermath of the pre-dawn thunderstorms and tornado advisory, the National Weather Service has issued wind advisories for this afternoon and tonight. Temperatures will drop during the day with lows in the 30s tonight.
Then, at the end of the work seek, severe weather could return.
The wind advisories begin at noon Monday. For Orange, Putnam, Rockland and Westchester, they end at 2 a.m. Tuesday. For Dutchess and Ulster counties, it ends at 6 a.m. Tuesday.

* WINDS...West 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph.
* TIMING...This afternoon into tonight.
* IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.
Since the ground is wet, trees could be more easily blown down as well.
A Wind Advisory is issued when sustained winds of 31 to 39 mph, or gusts of 46 to 57 mph, are expected or occurring. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles, in open areas, and on elevated roads and bridges. Use extra caution.
