Weirdest Finds At TSA Checkpoints 2017: Grenade Art, Bone Knife

A knife carved out of a bone was seized by TSA officers at BWI Airport; it was one of the agency's oddest finds in 2017, authorities said.

HANOVER, MD — Just when you thought we had moved on from the drama of 2017, we have one last list for you: The Transportation Security Administration released a list of its "Top Ten Most Unusual Finds of 2017." Items on the list include oddities such as a knife carved out of a bone with a skull at the base of the handle — caught at the BWI Airport checkpoint — to two art objects made out of grenades. TSA "Blogger Bob" Burns put out a tongue-in-cheek video illustrating the odd finds, see it below.

Of the gruesome BWI knife he quipped, "Make no bones about it, this traveler had a bone to pick with somebody."

No. 1 on the list was what the TSA dubbed a "face tenderizer." The object looks like a mashup of brass knuckles with a meat tenderizer attached. Yikes.
