Scattered Power Outages In Hudson Valley Thursday

Crews are working on restoring the remaining customers without electricity.

About 1,600 electricity customers in the Hudson Valley are waiting for the power to come back on in the wake of the high winds that ripped through the region Wednesday afternoon and night. Hardest hit are Central Hudson customers in Ulster County.

As of 9:30 a.m. Thursday, there were almost 1,500 residences and businesses without electricity.

In Woodstock, there are more than 730 customers without power. According to the Central Hudson outage map, they should all be restored by 4 p.m. Thursday. More than 200 Wawarsing customers without electricity should have power restored by 12:30 p.m. Thursday.

In Saugerties, the 164 customers with no power are still being evaluated.

There were about 750 NYSEG customers waiting for power restoration Thursday morning.

The Town of Somers in Westchester County had the most early Thursday with almost 700 outages, the number was reduced to seven by 10 a.m.

In Orange County, the Town of Montgomery had about 25 by 10 a.m.

There are scattered outages throughout the region as well.
