Senators Award Grants To 8 HV Fire Departments

The funding will be used to purchase essential equipment, boost training and provide firefighters with support.

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — As New York continues to pour resources into fighting the wildfiresat Minnewaska State Park Preserve, U.S. Sens. Charles Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand announced grants to 48 fire departments in the state, including eight in the Hudson Valley.

The senators said the funding will be used to purchase essential equipment, boost training and provide firefighters with support.

"It is essential that we provide our firefighters with the resources they need to keep our communities safe," said Senator Schumer.
