Soldier Sentenced In Crash That Killed West Point Cadet
The truck that turned over was on its way to a training exercise about 8 miles from West Point.
WEST POINT, NY — An Army soldier was sentenced Tuesday after being convicted of negligent homicide in a 2019 crash that killed a West Point cadet and injured 21 others. Staff Sgt. Ladonies P. Strong will be spending three years in confinement and reduced her rank to private.
Strong, 32, was driving a truck that overturned in June 2019 and was on the way to a training exercise about 8 miles from West Point, The New York Times reported.
Cadet Christopher J. Morgan, Class of 2020, died from injuries sustained in the rollover crash. He was 22 years old and was from West Orange, New Jersey.

Besides negligent homicide, Strong was convicted of prevention of authorized seizure of property, Stars and Stripes said.
She is assigned to the Army's 3rd Infantry Division at Fort Stewart in Georgia.
