Town Employee Arrested For Illegally Recording Nude Victims
The town supervisor said she wasn't informed of the first arrest that took place months ago.

WAPPINGERS FALLS, NY — State Police arrested a Wappingers Falls man for allegedly taking nude images of people without them knowing about it. Michael P. Kelly, 54, was charged with three counts of second-degree unlawful surveillance, felonies. The arrest, which occurred July 20, stems from a incident reported to police in March 2017.
Police said Kelly was accused of setting up cameras in his home to record nude images of victims who had reasonable expectations of privacy.
Kelly was arrested March 20, 2017, for felony second-degree unlawful surveillance. After a search warrant was executed at his home, his computer equipment was seized and evaluated.

He was arraigned at the Town of Wappinger Court, with his next scheduled court appearance set for Oct. 5.
The Poughkeepsie Journal said Kelly works in the Town of Wappinger Highway Department as a machine operator.

Town Supervisor Lori Jiava told the Journal she was not made aware of the March arrest and said she has asked Dutchess County District Attorney William Grady for information on the arrest.
