Tractor Trailer Rollover Closes Route 22 For Hours Wednesday
Police said the operator of the tractor trailer veered off the road to avoid hitting several other vehicles.
NORTH EAST, NY — State police are investigating a rollover crash that involved a tractor trailer Wednesday, No. 28. The accident happened around 5 p.m. on State Route 22 in the Town of North East.
An investigation found the operator of the tractor trailer was going south on Route 22 in the area of Haight Road and veered off the road to avoid a collision with several vehicles stopped on Route 22 waiting for a vehicle to turn left onto Haight Road.
No injuries were reported, police said.

The Troop K Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Unit responded to the scene to assist with the removal of the tractor trailer.
Route 22 was closed until approximately 2:30 a.m. Thursday.
