Police ID Man Killed In Truck, Tractor Trailer Crash: UPDATE

State police identified the man killed in the crash on Interstate 84 in the town of Montgomery Tuesday. His name is Thomas E. Hallahan, 32 ,of Newburgh.

MONTGOMERY, NY — A truck and tractor trailer crash Tuesday in the Town of Montgomery took the life of one of the drivers. State police said the crash occurred around 6:30 p.m. on I-84.

Preliminary findings indicate that a black 2008 Chevrolet pickup truck was traveling west in the passing lane behind a tractor trailer and another vehicle.

Police said the operator of the pickup tried to get back into the passing lane when he struck the tractor trailer and lost control.

The pickup rolled over several times, continuing for about 150 yards, according to authorities. The driver of the pickup was ejected from the vehicle.

He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

State police said the investigation is ongoing. Anyone who may have seen the accident is asked to call the State Police at Montgomery at 845-457-1388.
