Vermont Man Facing Felony Drug Charge In NY

Police said probably cause was established to search both the vehicle and its occupants.

NEW WINDSOR, NY — A car stop on I-87 for an equipment violation led to a felony drug charge for a Vermont man. State Police said Andrew Holden, 26, of Wallingford, VT was pulled over around 2:27 a.m. Sept. 19 in the Town of New Windsor. During the interview, police said they found probable cause to search the vehicle and its occupants.

He was taken into custody and processed at the Newburgh barracks.

Holden was charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and possession of a hypodermic instruments, misdemeanors, and a vehicle and traffic violation.

He was scheduled to be arraigned Sept. 19. There is no information on a date for a return to court.
