Volunteer Opportunities Of The Week: Taxes; Book Sale
Every week, Patch will spotlight volunteer opportunities somewhere in the Hudson Valley.
Each week Patch will be highlighting a volunteer opportunity — or two — in the Hudson Valley. This will be a chance to help your community and be an opportunity to give back — in perhaps a way you didn't consider before.
And if you have some need for volunteers, be sure to let us know by emailing michael.woyton@patch.com.
This week we are putting the spotlight on two opportunities in the Hudson Valley.

First up, the United Way of the Dutchess-Orange Region said that volunteers are needed for Hudson Valley CA$H Coalition which provides free tax preparation services for qualified residents of Dutchess, Orange and Putnam counties. Working with the AARP Foundation Tax-Aide, the coalition seeks volunteers who can input data, have patience and a have a genuine desire to help. A background in accounting is not necessary. Bilingual volunteers would be helpful. Orientation and information session will be held in Dutchess County in December and Orange County in January. For more information or to volunteer, go to the website.
Secondly, the Warner Livery in Tarrytown needs volunteers for it upcoming book sale, which is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 19 and Sunday, Oct. 20. Volunteers are needed Oct. 18 through 21 to help set up tables, carry boxes, break down tables and load unsold books onto the recycling truck.
