Winter Storm Coming: Poughkeepsie's Weekend Weather

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY — It's an all-weather holiday weekend. We'll see sun on Saturday. Then Hazardous Weather Outlooks have been issued for Columbia, Dutchess, Orange and Ulster counties Saturday night into Sunday morning. We'll see sun on Sunday and Monday morning, but clouds will come in bringing a chance of rain Monday afternoon.

For Orange County, there is a low chance for around 6 inches of snow Saturday night. Most likely anywhere from 3 to 6 inches of snow will fall in Orange County, the National Weather Service said.

For Columbia, Dutchess, Orange and Ulster counties, a moderate snowfall is possible Saturday night into early Sunday morning. If confidence increases in moderate snowfall amounts, a Winter Storm Watch or Winter Weather Advisory would eventually be issued, the NWS said.

• This Afternoon: A chance of showers, mainly before 4pm. Mostly cloudy, with a temperature falling to around 42 by 5pm. Northwest wind 5 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
• Tonight: Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming clear, with a low around 23. Northwest wind 5 to 13 mph.
• Saturday: Increasing clouds, with a high near 36. Calm wind becoming south 5 to 8 mph in the afternoon.
• Saturday Night: Snow likely. Cloudy, with a low around 27. South wind 5 to 7 mph becoming calm after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 70%.
• Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 44. Calm wind becoming west 5 to 7 mph in the afternoon.
• Sunday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 26.
• Washington's Birthday: A chance of rain after 1pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 45. Chance of precipitation is 50%.
• Monday Night: A chance of rain. Cloudy, with a low around 43. Chance of precipitation is 50%.
