Winter Storm Warnings Issued For Mid-Hudson Valley
Up to 8 inches of accumulated snow could come to the region.

With an estimated snow accumulation of up to 8 inches headed to the mid-Hudson Valley, the National Weather Service has issued winter storm warnings for parts of the region. One warning is in effect from 4 p.m. Thursday to 1 p.m. Friday for Columbia, Dutchess and Ulster counties.
The NWS said heavy snow is expected late Thursday afternoon into the evening, with mixed precipitation expected late Thursday evening into Friday morning.
Total snow accumulation is forecast to be between 4 and 8 inches, with ice accumulations of up to 1/10 of an inch expected.

There could be locally higher accumulations up to 10 inches expected in the Catskills.
The other warning is in effect from 1 p.m. Thursday through 10 a.m. Friday for Orange County.

Total snow accumulations of 5 to 8 inches and 1/10 to 2/10 of an inch of ice accumulations are expected.
The NWS said travel will difficult, especially during the evening commute Thursday.
Wintry conditions will also affect the morning commute Friday as mixed precipitation changes back to snow.
Isolated power outages are possible.
Snowfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour will start early Thursday evening.
