Winter Weather Advisory Issued for Western Ulster County

Snow and blowing snow could cause dangerous travel conditions.

ELLENVILLE, NY — A winter weather advisory is in effect until 7 p.m. Monday for western Ulster County.

The National Weather Service said the area could expect 4 to 8 inches of snow in the form of snow showers through Monday.

With western Ulster County also under a wind advisory until 6 p.m. Monday, blowing snow can also be expected.

The highest accumulations of snow will be above 1,000 feet, the NWS said.

Potentially dangerous travel conditions will exist due to snow-covered roads. There will be near zero visibility at times due to snow and blowing snow.

The NWS said the maximum snowfall rate is expected to be around a half inch an hour.
