9-Year-Old Girl Punched In Face Outside Plaza Hotel: NYPD

MIDTOWN, NY — A 9-year-old girl was punched in the face in an unprovoked attack by a 27-year-old man outside the Plaza Hotel in New York City on Monday, according to New York City police.

The attack happened just after 11:20 a.m. near Fifth Avenue and West 59th Street, according to police. The man, later identified as Raheem Ramsarran of Manhattan, fled before police found him near 30 Central Park South.

Ramsarran was taken into custody without incident, police said.

The girl suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene by emergency personnel, police said.
