The Bryant Park Lawn Debuts For 2018 Season
One of New York City's best spots to take in the outdoors is officially open.

MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — Office workers of Midtown, rejoice. The Bryant Park lawn made its debut for the spring and summer 2018 seasons Tuesday afternoon, park officials announced.
Park visitors began to trickle onto the newly-opened lawn around noon Tuesday, but the green space was predictably mobbed less than an hour later.
The 300-by-215-foot lawn is a favorite spot for New Yorkers to take in the outdoors. It's a perfect spot for Midtown workers to take a lunch break and one of the neighborhood's biggest tourist draws on a nice day. The lawn is also the home of many of Bryant Park's most popular activities including lawn game tournaments, free theater performances and the HBO Bryant Park Summer Film Festival.

Even though the lawn is open for the season, Bryant Park will still occasionally shut it down. The lawn will be closed when it's wet, when it needs to be mowed or aerated and after big events like a film showing — which can bring more than 10,000 people to the lawn — according to the park's website.
