FAO Schwarz Plans Return To Midtown, Report Says
The iconic New York City toy store was forced to close in 2015. Now it's coming back with a new location in Rockefeller Center.

MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — Children of New York City, rejoice! Iconic toy store FAO Schwarz has plans to open up shop in Rockefeller Center, Commercial Observer first reported.
ThreeSixty Group — the company that owns FAO Schwarz — has negotiated a lease with Tishman Speyer to occupy a 19,000-square-foot store in 30 Rockefeller Plaza, Commercial Observer reported. The report did not reveal terms of the lease such as length and price per square foot.
The new space is much smaller than FAO Schwarz's former location in the General Motors building, which it had occupied for 30 years before closing in 2015. The new store is schedule to open next fall, just in time for the 2018 holiday season, Commercial Observer reported.
