Fire Breaks Out In W 58th St Restaurant Near Sixth Ave: FDNY

MIDTOWN, MANHATTAN — A fire broke out in a restaurant at the bottom of an apartment building in Midtown on Thursday afternoon, FDNY officials said.

Firefighters rushed to the 57 West 58th St. building just after 4:15 p.m. after a fire broke out in the restaurant on the bottom floor, an FDNY spokesperson said. The crews were still working to contain the blaze around 4:30 p.m.

The Quality Meats steakhouse is found on the first floor of the 11-story apartment building, which sits near the corner of Sixth Avenue.
