Hell's Kitchen Man Killed In E-Bike Crash Near Javits Center
A 66-year-old man died weeks after crashing his e-bike into the open door of a stopped car on 11th Avenue, police said.

HELL'S KITCHEN, NY — A Hell's Kitchen man in his sixties died weeks after crashing his e-bike into a stopped car near the Javits Center, according to police.
The crash happened around 11 a.m. on Jan. 16, when the victim, 66-year-old Kwok Kwan, was biking downtown along 11th Avenue.
Near the intersection of West 37th Street, Kwan hit the open rear passenger door of a Toyota Prius, which was stopped to let a passenger leave, according to police. Kwon was flung from the bike and fell to the street.

Kwon suffered from head trauma and was rushed to Mount Sinai-Morningside Hospital, where he was initially listed in stable condition. But he ultimately died from his injuries on Feb. 11, police said.
Kwon lived on West 56th Street near 10th Avenue at The Westport, a luxury rental building, according to police.

The 42-year-old man behind the wheel of the Prius stayed at the scene, police said, and no charges have been announced.
