Video: Horse Hit By Taxi In Midtown, Witness Says
The horse and taxi were gone by the time police arrived at Eighth Avenue and West 56th Street, an NYPD spokesman said.

MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — A horse was struck by a taxi during the Monday morning rush hour in Midtown Manhattan and was momentarily pinned under the vehicle, a witness told Patch.
Videographer Thomas Beckner happened upon the collision and began to take photos and video on the incident, he told Patch. The horse was hit on Eighth Avenue near West 56th Street.
"I showed up as it was wedged underneath the taxi," Beckner said in an Instagram post. "When is this going to stop? Ridiculous."

An NYPD spokeswoman told Patch that she had no information about the collision. The horse and cab were gone by the time police responded to the scene, the spokeswoman said.

After the collision, the horse was taken to an Eighth Avenue sidewalk for a quick inspection by two men who appeared to be its owners, according to video Beckner sent Patch. The horse was standing up, supporting its own weight, as a man checked its legs for injuries.
