This week the NYC Department of Transportation plans to begin installing the bike and pedestrian improvements along the east side of Fifth Avenue between 59th Street and 34th Street.  DOT anticipates that full implementation of these changes will take 1-2 months.

What’s Happening Here?

• Install painted sidewalk extension along the east curb
• Install protected bike lane along the east curb
• Install painted pedestrian islands at key intersections
• Add drop-off/pick up lane between the bike and travel lane
