- Expand Pedestrian Space, Add Protected Bike Lane, Shorten Crossing Distances, Add New Loading Areas
NYC DOT will implement pedestrian and bicycle improvements on 5th Avenue between 59th Street and 34th Street:
• Install painted sidewalk extension along the east curb
• Install protected bike lane along the east curb
• Install painted pedestrian islands at key intersections
• Add drop-off/pick up lane between the bike and travel lane
