NYC Bartender Austin Rogers Dominates 'Jeopardy!', Charms Fans

NEW YORK, NY — A local New York City bartender by the name of Austin Rogers has emerged as a national sensation for dominating "Jeopardy!" on a seven-day win streak. Winning seven games on "Jeopardy!" is an impressive feat, but Rogers has managed to show off a charismatic personality on the normally-rigid show.

Rogers' tendencies to bet big, unleash celebratory flourishes upon nailing tough questions and share great stories during the awkward "meet the contestants" portion of the game show have earned him a dedicated following of fans. Thrown is a messy hairdo, bushy bear and some snazzy outfits and you've got the recipe for a surefire viral star.

Update: As of Friday, Rogers has won eight straight games on "Jeopardy!" His winnings total $306,900.

As "Jeopardy!" host Alex Trebek puts it: "He's got hair, he's got chutzpah and broad-based knowledge."

Rogers' fanbase should continue to grow as he keeps winning. So far, Rogers has earned $278,300 during his seven-day reign.

Not much is known about Rogers' New York City life, other than that he's a bartender. A quick look at Rogers' Twitter page suggests that he's employed at a Hell's Kitchen country bar called The Waylon. Rogers posted a video of himself asking bar patrons about the correct pronunciation of "sherbet," for which the "Jeopardy!" judges docked him points.

During a segment on "Jeopardy!" Rogers revealed that he grew up a son of a park ranger in Westchester County and would often encounter "drunk kids from John Jay High School."

Rogers' celebrity reached new heights Thursday when he appeared on "Good Morning America" to talk about his impressive winning streak and growing fame.
