<p>MIDTOWN, NY — Police are searching for a suspect after a man performed a "lewd act" on a subway in Midtown in front of a woman on Memorial Day, New York City Police Department officials said. </p><p>According to the NYPD, the 42-year-old woman was on board a Manhattan-bound E train approaching the Seventh Avenue station at 7:30 a.m. when the man approached her and performed the act. </p><p>Then, the man left the station and ran away, police said. </p><p>Police said anyone with information regarding the sex abuse can call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). </p><p>The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers <a href="https://crimestoppers.nypdonline.org/?AspxAutoDetectCookieSupport=1" target="_blank" rel="noopener nofollow">website</a> or on X (formerly Twitter) @NYPDTips.</p><p><i>This is a developing story and will be updated.
