Person Hit, Killed By Truck Driver In Midtown, Police Say
A pedestrian was killed in Midtown Thursday morning when they were pinned under a tractor-trailer, according to police.
MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — The driver of a tractor-trailer fatally struck a pedestrian near Times Square Thursday morning, according to police.
The unidentified pedestrian was walking in front of a tractor-trailer near the corner of West 44th Street and Eighth Avenue around 11:30 a.m. Thursday, when the truck moved forward, according to police.
The person became pinned under the truck, and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

No arrests have been announced and the driver stayed at the scene, police said. Police warned the public to avoid the area as they carried out an investigation.
The victim's age and gender were not immediately available.
