Rockefeller Center Selects Christmas Tree

A Norway spruce tree from Pennsylvania will be put on display in Rockefeller Center for this year's holiday season.

MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — A Norway spruce from State College, Pennsylvania has been selected to be this year's Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center.

Rockefeller Center announced on Twitter that the giant tree will be delivered to New York City on Nov. 11 to be put on display behind the center's iconic ice rink. The tree's height was not immediately disclosed, but judging by years past it should be between 70- and 100-feet-tall.

This year's Rockefeller Center tree-lighting ceremony will occur on Wednesday, Nov. 29, according to the center's website. The tree will be on display for the duration of the holiday season and will be taken down on the night of Jan. 7, according to Rockefeller Center.
