Train service has resumed and police have cleared an investigation on the 7 platform at Grand Central Station, reports said.

MANHATTAN — Train service has resumed and police have cleared an investigation on the 7 platform at Grand Central Station, New York City Transit and local media said.
NYCT said service resumed shortly after 1:30 p.m. It was halted for about an hour.
A police spokesman told Patch that officers evacuated the platform and brought in the bomb squad as a precaution.

MANHATTAN — The New York City police bomb squad is investigating a suspicious package at Grand Central Station, a police spokesman told Patch on Sunday afternoon.

Police said someone saw the suspicious package on the 7 train platform. Officers evacuated the train platform and called in the fire department and bomb squad, police told Patch.
The 7 train service is suspended between Manhattan and Queens while police investigate, according to New York City Transit.
"Manhattan-bound 7 trains will turn around at Queensboro Plaza," NYCT said on Twitter. "Flushing-bound trains are holding in stations between 34 St-Hudson Yards and 42 St-Bryant Pk"
Trains on on the 4 and 6 lines, and the 42nd Street Shuttle train, are running but with delays.
NYCT sent out their first Twitter alert at 12:35 p.m. Monday.
