'Swaying' Broadway Building Prompts Midtown Emergency
Firefighters responded to scene shortly before 11:30.
MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY –A building on Broadway prompted an emergency response after residents reported it was "swaying" Friday, FDNY officials said.
The building at 1776 Broadway, at the corner of West 57th Street, is under construction, fire officials said. The movement was reported as cranes were lifting cement, an FDNY spokesman said at the scene. It was reported at 11:30 a.m.
"We're making sure the movement of the building is not too excessive," he said.
