Asian Woman Pushed In Front Of Subway, Killed At Times Square

Police have arrested a suspect after a woman was struck by an oncoming train at the Times Square-42nd Street station.

MIDTOWN, NY — A woman was killed when a man pushed her in front of a train at the Times Square-42nd Street subway station on Saturday, according to police.

Just before 9:40 a.m., police were called to the station after a woman was pushed in front of an oncoming Q train, police said. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police identified her hours later as Michelle Alyssa Go, an Upper West Side resident.

The suspect was identified as Simon Martial, a 61-year-old homeless man. He was charged with murder.

Go was Asian, officials said, making her the latest victim in a series of high-profile attacks against Asian New Yorkers that have rattled the city.

"Today, a woman entered the subway station, like any New Yorker, just trying to get where she needed to go," Mayor Eric Adams said in a tweet. "Our hearts break for her and her family."
