2 Dead, 1 Hurt After Convertible Collides With SUV On Long Island: Police

The car struck the SUV just east of Park Avenue. The men were pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

MILLER PLACE, NY — Two men in a convertible died Monday night in a collision with an SUV in Miller Place, Suffolk police said.

Around 7:30 p.m., a 2019 Kia Sedona was heading east in on Route 25A, east of Park Avenue, when the driver tried to make a U-turn. The SUV was struck by a 2011 Audi convertible coupe that was heading west, police said.

The Audi driver, Victor Lanzotti, 32, of Rocky Point, and his passenger, Raymond Neff, 37, of Mount Sinai were declared dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the county medical examiner's office, police said.

The SUV driver, a 35-year-old woman from Shirley, was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police shut down 25A in both directions while they investigated the crash, diverting traffic into side streets.

Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks, police said. Detectives are asking anyone with information about the crash to call 631-854-8652.
