Tens of Thousands of Dollars Worth of Illegal Drugs Seized From Suffolk County Home: Police

A 25-year-old man faces numerous felony charges as new drug hotline continues to be flooded with tips leading to arrests, police say.

SOUND BEACH, NY - The Suffolk County Police Department's ongoing crackdown on drug dealing took officers to a Sound Beach home Saturday morning where tens of thousands of dollars worth of drugs were seized and a 25-year-old man was hit with numerous felony charges, police said.

Police executed a search warrant at a home located at 485 North Country Road around 6 a.m. Saturday after the department received an anonymous tip to its new 24/7 drug activity hotline (631-852-NARC), police said.

Here's what officers found inside, according to police:

He was arraigned on Sunday at First District Court in Central Islip. Judge Anthony Senft ordered Trent held on $75,000 bail or $150,000 bond. Trent is due back in court on Thursday.

Trent's arrest came just a day after police executed a search warrant at a Patchogue home and arrested a 19-year-old man for allegedly dealing drugs less than 250 feet from an elementary school.

SCPD's narcotics hotline has been inundated with calls from residents since it launched in March, according to Suffolk County Police Commissioner Tim Sini.

At a press conference Monday to discuss Trent's arrest, Sini, who has been aggressive in publicizing the department's crime fighting efforts since being appointed commissioner in February, said: "We will not tolerate drug dealing in Suffolk County. The police department will continue making arrests. We will seize the narcotics, we will seize the weapons and will keep the pressure on."
